Who are we?
Arbor is a company born through years of watching patients struggle with one of the simplest yet surprisingly difficult parts of getting new glasses. Choosing the frames.
In a traditional optical setting, choosing your new look can sometimes feel like a rushed decision. You're standing in front of a mirror, surrounded by hundreds of options, perhaps with with someone waiting to help you, while knowing that the frames you choose are going to sit on your face everyday for the next couple of years.
It's easy to feel that you need to make a decision there and then. And when you're unsure, the safest option can be to reach for what you already know.
As professionals on the retail side of the industry, we have always offered guidance with the very best intentions. But over the years, we saw how often people would choose the familiar over the exciting. Not necessarily because it was what they really wanted, but because it felt like the safest decision to make in the moment.
Meanwhile, fashion moves on. Styles change, colours evolve and what once felt modern can quietly become the 'safety net' we return to time and time again
So, a friend and I started asking ourselves "What if choosing new spectacles didn't have to feel like a decision you needed to make under pressure?" What if you could take your time, try things on in a relaxed environment and have the people you trust around you to offer an honest opinion? And what if choosing your next set of glasses could actually be fun?
That's when ARBOR came to life.
We take the experience away from the traditional retail environment and bring it into a setting where people already feel comfortable surrounded by friends, neighbours and familiar faces.
Our resident-exclusive events are designed to give people the time, space and confidence to explore. There's no hurried decision, no intimidating rows of frames and no feeling that you have to choose something simply because you're there. Instead, residents can browse, experiment with different shapes and colours, ask questions, enjoy a coffee and most importantly, have fun!
So, we encourage you to come to an event, enjoy a coffee, strike a conversation and have fun discovering the latest eyewear styles and colours!
